Dennis P. McMahon

Attorney Dennis P. McMahon has been practicing law in Hartford, New Britain, Middlesex, Tolland, and Windham Counties since 1981. He has offices in Manchester and Rocky Hill.

Attorney McMahon completed his undergraduate degree at St. Anselm College in New Hampshire, where he graduated Cum Laude in 1978.  He obtained his law degree from the Ohio Northern University College of Law in 1981, and he also attended the University of Connecticut School of Law.

Admitted to the Connecticut State Bar in 1981 and to the Federal District Court in 1982, Attorney McMahon has argued many cases in state and federal courts, focusing on criminal defense and civil litigation.  He has handled serious felony cases and misdemeanor charges throughout Connecticut, and he has extensive civil trial experience.  Attorney McMahon has successfully tried numerous criminal, personal injury, social security disability, and accident cases to conclusion.

From 2001 to the present, Attorney McMahon has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of St. Joseph in West Hartford, Connecticut.  He teaches the basic principles of Sports Law to college students and how to apply these principles in today’s society.  The individual areas covered include Contracts, Labor Law, Torts, Coaching Liability, Title IX, Americans with Disabilities Act, Medical Malpractice, Workers’ Compensation, Intellectual Property, etc.  Attorney McMahon also gives continuing legal liability presentations to aspiring and current coaches.

Attorney McMahon is a First Medical Responder.  From 1984 to the present, he has served as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with the Wethersfield Volunteer Ambulance Association in Wethersfield, Connecticut.  His duties include providing pre-hospital critical care and rapid on-scene medical treatment, including IV therapy. 

From 1993 to the present, Attorney McMahon has served as a Little League Baseball coach in Wethersfield, Connecticut.  He is currently a major league head coach in the boys’ division.  In addition to his Little League team, Attorney McMahon is a Wethersfield head coach in the Farmington Bank/Vantis Life Baseball League, where he coaches middle and high school players.
